We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who visits our
site. We only ask for names and email addresses, and we treat your contact
information as private and confidential. We do not sell, trade or release
information about you to others. Votes, comments, and questions are linked
to your name in our database, but we never release that information to outsiders
except in the aggregate – by reporting the total number of votes for
a question, for example, or the overall volume of our traffic. Any statistics
that we publish will be based on aggregate information, and will not share
identifying information about individual people.
We will send you updates by email, but we will immediately remove you from
our mailing lists if you ask us to do so. Send an email
to editor@askquestions.org.
Many pages contain links to other sites and Internet resources that will take
you outside of the AskQuestions.org site. Those sites are beyond our control.
We use ‘cookies’ to identify return visitors, so that you don’t
have to re-enter your name and email address for every vote, question or comment
that you make. You can turn off the ‘cookie’ function in your browser
software if you prefer.
We also track information on which pages are being visited the most, so that
we can enhance the design and usability of our site. But this tracking is not
identifiable by individual visitors.
Credit card details and other financial information goes to Kagi, our donations
payment service provider, and we do not have access to that information. You
can read the
Kagi privacy policy here: http://www2.kagi.com/purchase/purchase_privacy.html.
